April Obsessions and Unfavorites

It's time for my April obsessions and unfavorites! At the end of each month, I will show you the things that I've been obsessing about and the things I did not like. Here are some of my favorite and unfavorite things of the month.

Obsessions

1.) Candie's High Heels-  I love theses Candie's ankle strap high heels from Kohl's. They are a great, timeless shoe that will go with pretty much everything. You can wear theses shoes with a pair of blue jeans and a t-shirt or a more formal outfit. For a high heel, they are quite comfortable.  I wore theses shoes to a concert where I was standing for about two hours and they barely hurt my feet. Plus, they are on sale now for $28.99! I loved these shoes so much I bought them in two different colors: black and blush. You can find the shoes here.

2.) Pari Dust's Blog-  One of my new blogger obsessions is Pari Dust. This is a blog where fashion meets art. Her outfits are inspired by different art pieces and architecture that surrounds her. I love how creative and unique her blog is. She has an eye for color and matching clothes with art pieces that inspire her. Her blog has inspired me to do a post that's similar to her blog! Hopefully, it will be posted on the blog soon! You can check out her blog here.

3.) Lana Del Rey Concert-  I have been excited about attending this concert for quite some time. I was very impressed with the seats we got. The seats were pretty close to the main stage. The concert itself was very entertaining. She played for about an hour and twenty minutes. She is as good live as she is on her album. I liked how much she engaged with her fans. At the end of her show, she got off the stage and took pictures with all the people that were near the front of the stage. Land definately loves and respects her fans.

4.) The Fabulist-   The Fabulist is a new show that is on the E! channel. The show talks about the hottest trends in fashion, beauty,  lifestyle, and everything in between.  The show goes over the highlight trends of the week.

On The Fence

5.) American Blogger Movie Trailer-   This month I don't have a clear unfavorite thing. I'm on the fence about the movie trailer for American Blogger. There are things I like about it and things I do not like about it. I was intrigued by the movie's theme. I am a blogger so I thought it would be interesting to see a variety of different bloggers from across America. After watching the trailer I was a little disappointed.
My main complaint about the trailer is it seems like they only show one type of blogger. Most of the interviews in the trailer were fashion and lifestyle bloggers. The interviews were of predominately young, white females. The trailer did not show interviews with older people, male bloggers, or anyone that covered other topics besides fashion or lifestyle.
What I did like about the trailer is that it has one of my favorite fashion bloggers, Cara Loren in it. I am interested to see what she has to say about her career and any advice that she will give.
Overall, the concept of the movie is ok.It will be interesting to hear other fashion/lifestyle bloggers experiences, ideas, and advice.
I think that the title of the movie needs to change. If the film is mainly going to be about one certain type of blogger it should not have the title American Blogger. When I think about the "American Blogger", I think of both men and women, people of different races, people of different ages, and people blogging about different ideas.  I will probably watch the film though to see what fashion blogger Cara Loren has to say. You can watch the movie trailer here

Cafe Herrera

Besides fashion, one of my other passions in life is broadcast journalism. I volunteer at my school's news station as a reporter. Recently, I was given the opportunity to cover a new mexican restaurant in the Denton area.  I love covering food stories. I get to combine two things I love, reporting and food. What's not to love! The video of my story is below. Check it out!
